5 Affordable Ways to Brighten your Classroom
As a teacher, I want the students who come into my classroom to be excited to be there! I want things to sparkle. I want to have large screens flashing with exciting content. I want a five-piece orchestra playing classical music in the background. However, my checking account would disagree with my daydreaming.
Coming back down to reality, I have put together five quick and easy ideas to add some affordable bling to your classroom. Take a look!
1. Washi Tape
A quick way to brighten your classroom is using colored tape. The brightly colored tape can be used on any surface and can be removed with very little trouble. If you have not heard of Washi tape, just do a Pinterest search for it and have your crafty heart stolen.
2. Milk Crates
Yes, what is old is new again. Milk crates are a great way to add shelving, mini chairs, and mini work tables to your classroom. The plastic can easily be spray painted to match your existing class room colors.
3. Ribbons
by using simple material bought at a local craft store or second hand store the classroom can instantly be transformed to a place of wonder. Remember those milk crates we talked about? Weave a ribbon through the holes of the milk crate for a fun new look.
4. Tissue Balls
At less than a dollar apiece, these easy-to-find hanging bright spots can create a fun dynamic 3D look in your classroom. Available in multiple colors and fun patterns, they weigh very little and are easy to tape up on a ceiling.
5. Chalkboard paint
Starting at just $3 dollars, chalkboard paint allows any surface to become an awesome chalkboard! What a great way to start the school year…. with a blank slate!
